Nationwide Pharmacy Protest Day on 14 June 2023 - We'll join in!

Usually, you come to us for quick and professional help with all your health-related questions. Today, it is us who turn to you with a concern. Please understand that the Hasen Apotheke am Wednesday, 14 June 2023 closed remains. In protest!

We recommend that you get your medications ahead of time on other days and address any questions to our pharmacy team before or after the protest day if possible. Emergency care on this day is provided by Emergency pharmacies guaranteed.

We are protesting because the federal government's policy massively endangers our work - your proper care.

  • Because of the many supply bottlenecks, we need as much flexibility as possible in our work to be able to supply you quickly. However, the supply system is full of bureaucracy and the threat of penalties from the health insurance companies.
  • Working in the pharmacy is challenging and requires a lot of expertise and understanding of the problems of the people who need our help. Drug supply shortages have made our work even more complicated and cost energy and time. However, pharmacies are denied financial recognition for this extra work. Here, too, we demand a fair solution from the politicians.
  • The fee for pharmacies consists to a large extent of a fixed amount that is supposed to cover the running costs. This fixed amount has not been adjusted for ten years now, despite the immense increase in costs in the meantime. Pharmacies are thus disconnected from the overall economic development. This is not only unjust, but now threatens their very existence. Other important care providers, such as doctors' surgeries and hospitals, have received extra payments for this.

In Germany, more pharmacies have recently had to close for good than ever before. Economic reasons play just as much a role as a lack of staff and new recruits. Lack of recognition and frustration about the excessive bureaucracy are just as much a part of it as the extreme compression of work and the lack of will on the part of politicians to help pharmacies and the people who work there. Saving pharmacies destroys the nationwide, low-threshold supply of medicines close to home. We know that: This cannot be in the interest of our patients - and that is why we are protesting on your behalf.
